I am launching a new Webcomic and I need your support. Please take a look at Eirgsmoth and help me with one of the following or all three if you are so inclined. First please rank my comic on Top Web Comics on the top banner of my webpage. Second if you could forward my webcomic to friends of your own and third and this is the most helpful if you could sponsor me for 1$, 3$, or 5$ a month on the patron (the banners on the site) it would help me be able to continue working on my art. Eventually I will have a PayPal donation button but that won’t be for a month or so. Again thank you.

I have been working my comic studiously researching websites to host it, how to better present it, and how to promote the work. I use Poser to craft the images, Manga studio to properly format to work and Photoshop to clean it all up. I have as all can see my cast of characters set and the environment set out. In the next week I’m going to have an intro posted here for all those who are interested in the comic itself.

I’m asking for a little advice on those who have web-comics already on how and where to host properly. I’ve been looking at Parteon to see if I can fund this project but think I need a good full comic of 24-30 pages before I head in that direction. I know that a PayPal donation button will help but I hear that few actually donate. I’m planning on crafting a press package and finding a few web-comic promo sites like Top web comic list.

Now some of you might notice a new gallery called Spaceships on my DA page. Those are images for a friend of mine here on Deviant art who is working on an RPG called Orion Force. JB Claussen requested artwork for the project and I went out to find some commercial free models from artists Herminio Nieves and Antonio Amado. Here is a blurb on JB Claussen RPG:

In the mid 27th Century, unrest and interstellar war are prevalent in the Milky Way Spiral Galaxy. Powerful factions within the Orion Spur of the Galaxy fight over who’s idea of law was most correct; The United Republic of Terra and its parent organization, the equitable Alliance of the Orion Spur on one side, with their motto of ‘Everyone has a voice’, and the tyrannical Aquillan Imperium through its idea of universal peace through universal subjugation on the other. War, cold and hot, has raged for centuries, kicked off by a mysterious extraplanar rift that brought an illogical, inexplicable phenomenon which could only be called magick into our Universe.
A thousand light-years away from the Alliance-Aquillan War, in the Sagittarius Arm of the Galaxy, exists a great Consortium of business-beings striving to increase their profits by supplying both sides in this ongoing conflict.
Somewhere in the middle, in the Great Void between the Orion Spur and Sagittarius Arm is the rogue Dendrix Solar System. Fourth from the star is a neutral, Earthlike planet called Keta. In a bustling spaceport, on a small continent in the north, there was a bar. As with most bars, it had a million and one tales to tell.

Well until next week have fun.

Science Fiction Fantasy Writer and Blogger Charity Bradford had conducted an interview with me for her blog “Charity's Writing Journey”. I feel flattered and somewhat surprised that I would be interview worthy at this time in my career. For the most part Charity’s Blog revolves around supporting writers, interviews with authors, and work she’s done on her three current projects. So if anyone is interested please take a look and browse around. Besides supporting my work I’m sure Charity wouldn’t mind the traffic.

It’s been some time since I have written in my journal so here we are. For the first little while I have found it hard to connect with clients and realized that it’s not just sending them your portfolio but also engaging the client directly with an interest in his project. I offer my apologies to all of those who I have just thrown down my proverbial introduction and stomped out of the room. I’m beginning to understand that to become a Freelance Artist I need to engage and show a strength and confidence in what I can provide to a client instead of the “This is my work. Like it or don’t, I stand by it” kind of direction.

Besides using Freelanced.com and having an agent (mike from Dice media group) I have tempted to cold call people on Kick starter because I understand how it is to get a project of the ground. I’m trying to offer an adaptive direction for the client who has little to start with. In this direction I can build upon what I know and open my eyes to different directions in my field. This is a process that I am learning and something that I can use to engage the client for the betterment of any project.

Well today I hadn't planned on stepping away from Poser/Zbrush but I couldn't get motivated to work so instead I decided communicate with friends and artists who have shown an interest in what I can produce. First and foremost I spoke with Mutedbanshee, the woman who painted the texture I used for my "Out of the Shadows" image. She is a prominent artist at RuntimeDNA and Renderosity who was kind enough to help me out and direct my hand a bit. I have been using her work as well as her husbands for a few years now with out even knowing it until today. A piece of advice she gave me that I quite agree with is that one shouldn't become a generic female skin slinger. I think I said something like "give me Goiters and tumors and leakage oh my" She is a very pleasant and talented woman and to her I must say: Thank you.

The second person I have spoken to was an artist here on deviant art known as LeLePhotography. Amazing work that reminds me of J.K. Potter. I like his skill at photo manipulation and the sense of creepiness he brings to his art. Its worth the click to see it. So go now and discover his magic.
